Valentines Day 2020 Reminder! Is your water Sweetheart Ready?

Valentine’s Day, the second biggest dining day of the year is coming up this Friday, February 14th and according to the National Restaurant Association more than 70 million people will be dining out at their favorite restaurant this year. If you have a water filtration system in your restaurant you’ll want to make sure that the water filters have been changed and that the system is operating perfectly so that your water makes a wonderful first impression. The frequency of filter changes depends upon your water quality and your water usage. For example, if there is a lot of sediment and/or particles in your water, then you will have to change your filters more frequently than a location with little to no sediment. Be sure to replace your filters whenever you notice a decline in the performance, whether it is a drop in flow rate and/or pressure or an unusual taste in the water. Also note the following if you have one of our Everpure High Flow Systems like the incredibly popular and top selling EV9437-10 pictured below;

Happy Mothers Day!

As the most popular holiday of the year to dine out, nearly half of Americans will dine out or order restaurant takeout or delivery today. According to the NRF, the National retail Foundation, Americans expect to spend more than ever on Mother’s Day this year as they shower moms with everything from jewelry to special outings at favorite restaurants. Total spending is expected to reach $23.6 billion – the highest in the survey’s 14-year history, topping last year’s previous record of $21.4 billion. Whether consumers pick Mom’s preferred buffet breakfast or her favorite fine-dining dinner, America’s restaurants are stepping up to the plate to help families celebrate the special occasion. And while a majority of consumers make their Mother’s Day meal plans less than a month out, nearly one in five have probably been planning their celebratory meals for more than one month and the first thing that Mom is going to taste today is the water! If you are an operator that currently has a Pentair/Everpure water treatment in your facility you know that you are serving premium “Filtered Pure” water to your Moms, but if you don’t you may want to consider spending a few more dollars to make sure that you can pass the “Mom smell test”! You can be sure that if your water is off color with a bad taste or odor this weekend, it’s going to reflect poorly on the person who recommended your restaurant for Mom. Either way it is certainly something that is easy to avoid, as easy as making sure that your water filters have been changed or if you don’t already have one, installing an Everpure water filtration system to take care of all of the beverages and ice that you are serving.  If you already have an Everpure system, it is essential that filters be replaced periodically. The frequency of filter changes depends upon your water quality and your water usage. For example, if there is a lot of sediment and/or particles in your water, then you will have to change your filters more frequently than a location with little to no sediment. Be sure to replace your filters whenever you notice a decline in the performance, whether it is a drop in flow rate and/or pressure or an unusual taste in the water.

You should also replace your water filters whenever you notice a decline in performance, whether it is a drop in flow rate and/or pressure, or an unusual taste in the water. You should also, per the CDC, replace your water filter after any boil water advisory alert is lifted in your area. Remember: taste and odor may tip you off to the presence of chlorine in your water, but most contaminants are tasteless and odorless.

For the benefit of our customers, we have set-up automatic electronic reminders that are sent when we see that their filters are due to be replaced, based on order history.  We can even set-up Auto-Ship for customers that know they will need water filters by a certain date, but may not remember to place an order.

If you have a question regarding how often you should replace your filter or not sure about the filter system that you have please email your questions and a picture of the system to info@filterpure.com or call our team at 1-800-942-7873 and have a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Filter Pure Systems!

This year on March 17th all of us will celebrate many beautiful things about the Irish culture. What originally began as a religious holiday has grown to a day of celebrating Irish culture, dancing, parades, a lot of green and the luck of the Irish. While many will hit pubs and bars to enjoy the very best in green beverages, restaurants are making sure that they are ready for the big day tomorrow too. Last year over 126 million people in the U.S. celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and average spending was $37 per person. That would make the total spent last year more than $4.6 billion dollars. That’s BILLION with a B. Thankfully at Filter Pure Systems we have you covered to make sure your kitchen equipment is ready for the big day and the celebration to continue into this weekend.

One of our most popular items is the Everpure High-flow CSR Quad MC2 System (EV9437-10). This NSF 42 and NSF 53 system with bacteriostatic system , includes the 20” pre-filter, EV9534-12 that captures large dirt particles and the very famous MC2, EV9612-56,( “Note lucky Irish Green Color on the cartridge). However, nothing has been left to chance with the MC2, EV9612-56 in providing crystal clear “Filtered Pure” water using Everpure pre-coat filtration technology that removes asbestos fibers and cysts such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia and Entamoeba.  This system provides two sources of treated water with the addition of the SR-X Scale inhibitor to help keep scale from building up in the ice machines and coffee brewers.  It has an overall capacity of 36,000 gallons. Many restaurants favor this system because it not only helps protect  kitchen equipment but it can take care of multiple appliances at a time while also making sure that customers are getting the best drinks possible. A customer can tell right away by simply having a glass of water if your water is being treated and if you care about the quality of the beverages and food that you are serving in your facility. Make sure to make your first impression count.  If you have any questions about this system or need assistance in your water treatment solutions please e mail us at info@filterpure.com or call us at 1-800-942-7873 and a customer representative will happily assist you.

Testimonials

“I appreciate all your help with putting this filter solution together for my homeowner. She was so happy with the results of how the softener and UV water filter system worked on her well water. It was the first time she was able to drink the water from her kitchen faucet for almost 17 years. I thought she was going to start crying, she was so happy.” – Ken

“You did a great job with helping me to be able to quote the proper filter equipment for my clients that are using our steamer ovens.” – John

“I appreciate you coming here to my restaurant and taking the time to get us properly equipped with the right water filter system. My customers and employees have said that they can see a big difference in the taste of the water, coffee, ice and soft drinks. Lunch and Dinner covers have really gone up since the new equipment was installed.” – Chris

“By adding the commercial sized water softener to my whole facility it has changed almost everything with the water and for the better. My cost for detergents are lower because I use a lot less soaps in the warewash equipment and overall general cleaning. Glasses and silver ware look new again and I don’t have the issue with having to rewash those items. I have less maintenance now on all my equipment that either heats or cools the water and my 5 flash boiler-less water heaters use less energy and are more efficient. Even the automatic flush toilets work better. I’m saving enough money on my electric bill, water bill and cleaning supplies that the new water equipment will be paid for in less than 6 months. Thanks for all your help, I wish I called you guys a long time ago.” – Larry

“We were having issues with our HVAC makeup water having a high grains per gallon reading with the hardness in our water. Our cooling towers were in a state of constant repair, excessive corrosion and need of descaling. Our internal Maintenance Engineers were spending an excessive amount of time with this issue, so much in fact that the rest of the buildings maintenance and routine service suffered. That’s when we decided to call in the professionals. We contacted Filter Pure Systems to see how they could help with getting a solution for our problem. Once the water sample results were completed it seemed all the answers to our problems happened in a flash. They provided an analysis and a side stream resolution for our problem and had the much needed equipment at our facility and ready to be installed without delay. Ever since the installation of the filtration and water treatment systems provided by Filter Pure Systems, our facility has been running at a very efficient pace and productivity is back. Definitely comfort assured. Thank you Filter Pure Systems.” – Rick P.

“I own a portable auto detail company and I was having a very difficult time with the water I was using. On all of our trucks we have a 500 gallon tank that we fill up daily at different locations throughout the day. We use that water during the pre-wash, wash and final rinsing of the vehicles we detail. The water we use is all different and has different levels of hardness, grains per gallon at all of our fill sites. The water leaves spots and hard water residue in every wash and takes extra time and labor for our on-site detail techs to get the results our clients expect. I called Filter Pure Systems and let them know of my problems I was having. The recommendation they gave me was perfect. The items we purchased weren’t expensive and did the job by making the water soft and more wet so the spotting issue is now a thing of the past. I’m now saving more money on soaps and detergents that the system has already paid for itself in only 4 months. I appreciate all your help Filter Pure Systems.” – Danny

How Often Do I Change My Water Filter?

One of the most common questions we hear from our customers is in regards to how frequently a water filter cartridge should be changed. Whether it’s a standard sediment or carbon filter, every customer has one key priority in mind: How Long Will I Have Dependably Clean, Great Tasting Water? In other words, how can I be sure that my filter is still reducing the impurities that can impact the flavor of my water? Our standard answer: It depends. The frequency of filter changes depends upon your water quality and your water usage. For example, if there are a lot of sediment particulates in your water, then you will have to change your filters more frequently than someone with little to no sediment. If you are a large restaurant consuming large amounts of water a minute or a hospital with large ice machines, then your usage will demand more frequent filter changes. Having said that, we suggest replacement schedules that are generally as follows: Everpure High Flow CRS Quad MC2 System The most common Everpure Filtration System, mainly seen in the back of the house of restaurants should be changed every 6 months, or every 36,000 gallons. The EC210 prefilter, to the left of the MC2 filters, should be changed more frequently to extend the life of the MC2 filters. We recommend every 3-4 months.       Insurice Triple PF i4000(2) System w/ 20″ Prefilter For water filtration on ice machines, sometimes it can be difficult knowing when to change the filters, especially if you see no difference in the ice. But even if the ice is fine, deep inside the machine inches of scale can be forming and ruining your machine. That’s why it is important to keep a filter change out schedule. We recommend every 6 months or however many gallons are specified on the water filters. For the system pictured to the left, the Insurice Triple PF i4000(2), change those filters every 36,000 gallons of use. Again, changing the prefilter will give your primary cartridges longer life. If you have a water filter or filter model not included in the list above, and have a question regarding how often you should replace your filter, I invite you to submit a question below or call our team at 1-800-942-7873. What is in your soda?

Have you ever been at a restaurant and the soda you got from the soda fountain taste awful!? All restaurants want their soda to taste just like the bottled product, but if it doesn’t chances are their water is not being filtered properly or even at all. Did you know that 83% of soda is WATER!?

Water is a huge part of the ingredients in soda. Now you know why having the right filtration system for your soda fountain machine is very important. But before we get into the filtration part, lets go over the entire process of soda dispensing.

First is the carbonator that takes average cold tap water and combines it with Co2 gas to produce soda water (carbonated water). Then you have syrup pumps, which operate under the power of Co2 gas. Most syrup is mixed 5 to 1 (this means 5 parts Soda Water to 1 part Syrup) so a gallon of syrup makes 6 gallons of finished product. This will make 30 gallons of finished product. Lastly, you have the dispensing unit, which has a cold-plate in the bottom of it’s ice bin, then two electronic valves that control the amount of syrup with soda water that gets dispensed when activated (some have push-buttons on the front, others have metal tabs in the back that you press your cup against.)

As you can see, the first step of soda dispensing is carbonating the water and if the water is not filtered properly then your soda is left tasting really bad and not like the bottled product.

Here at Filter Pure, we have a variety of filtration systems that will help keep your water tasting great. Also, filtration will help prevent damage to your equipment and a longer lasting life to your system. Take a look at our Everpure combination system line
